Ripple Labs has settled a lawsuit with the U.S. SEC over the sale of unregistered securities, agreeing to pay $50 million of a $125 million fine. The settlement, while pending approval, resolves one of the SEC s high-profile cases against the cryptocurrency industry. Ripple will also drop its appeal concerning a decision on $728 million in XRP sales to institutional investors.

On Tuesday, gold and silver closed on a positive note in both domestic and international markets. The April gold futures contract settled at Rs 87,554 per 10 grams, marking a gain of 0.32%, while the May silver futures contract settled at Rs 99,153 per kilogram, with a gain of 1.70%.

Safe Harbour Rules grant businesses immunity from detailed tax scrutiny if they adhere to predefined pricing norms under the Income-tax Rules, 1962. Furthermore, the threshold for availing the safe harbour has been increased from Rs 200 crore to Rs 300 crore.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.74 per cent up at 21897.5.
