The Indian economy and the domestic financial system remain strong and resilient in a hostile international environment, supported by robust domestic macroeconomic fundamentals, RBI said. Financial markets, however, are witnessing heightened volatility because of global spillovers.

Stress tests were conducted on a select set of UCBs to assess credit risk (default risk and concentration risk), market risk (interest rate risk in trading book and banking book) and liquidity risk, based on their reported financial positions as of March 2022.

The tribunal – comprising former Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra and retired judges Indu Malhotra and Indermeet Kaur – observed that Hero MotoCorp had publicly asserted its manifest intention to use the name ‘Hero’ for its business of electric vehicles since 2012 and that it was close to the commercial launch of its electric vehicles under the brand ‘Vida – powered by Hero’.

“This could potentially reduce their lending and adversely affect overall economic activity, especially in countries with high fiscal vulnerability and less capitalised banking systems,” said the report.

"YES Bank is the sole lender to Carnival Cinemas, they have not been able to service the debt and the bank has now decided to take the matters in its hands," said one of the persons. "The bank has agreed to recast the loan, provided the promoters of the company infuse about ₹400-500 crore capital. Bank is not going to provide any additional loan."

The regulator has alleged irregularities in certain fixed maturity plans (FMPs) of Kotak AMC. The investment objectives of these schemes were to generate returns through investments in debt and money market instruments with a view to reducing interest rate risks.

Reflecting the increase in risk aversion and impact of monetary tightening, corporate bond spreads in the US and in emerging markets have widened despite some moderation in June 2022, as valuations increasingly reflect a weak economic outlook, RBI FSR report said.

"The Commission approved the proposed combination on the basis of modifications offered by the acquirer (Google)," the press release said, adding, "The parties also intend to enter into certain other commercial arrangements in future."
